I’m Floored

This weekend I’ll be down at the Parents’ house helping out with a little home improvement. Do-it-yourself has been the motto in my family from the beginning, and this hasn’t changed with my folks, even now that the kids are all (for the most part) grown up and out of the house. This just means we come back to visit and help on more projects.

The job we’re tackling this time is the downstairs bedroom (my younger brother’s room). It’s technically a basement room, and it has a painted concrete floor with an area rug. Not the coziest set up, but it has sufficed.

After a mini make-over last summer where we put up a panoramic tropical wallpaper (no really, it’s fun) on the main wall, the next step would be putting in a real floor.

Due to the fact that the basement has flooded on occasion (which is why the original carpet got ripped out in the first place), the decision was made to install porcelain tile. We’re hoping to get the job done in just 2 full days. I’ll make sure to take lots of pictures to share when I get back on Monday. Until then, have a great weekend!
